In sports car which is a better option stick-shift or auto-gear ?

I need an answer considering these issue numbered by priority as under: 1) Safety 2) Driving Pleasure 3) Resale Value The model I am considering to buy is a brand new BMW-Z4

1. Stick hands down. Do they make a SRORTS car thats an automatic???????
2. Always a stick, you have more control and don't loose any power by having an automatic.

4. automatic, consider the resale value alone, not many people these days seem to know how to drive a stick shift, esp. women.

I suppose it depends.. for pure drag racing, an automatic with a high stall torque convertor is probably better, even the best drivers miss gears in a stick. safety? an automatic,, average drivers on cell phones, eating breakfast and whatnot have too much to worry about already driving pleasure? in the eye of the beholder,, automatics can be made to be just as powerful and effiecient as a stick but you have less control over the tranny. resale? automatics are more expensive and more complicated to repair.. you could go either way with this point.
7. Hi there, I don't know if it is available where you are but if you are buying a new Z4, have they offered you a gear box with an option such as a steptronic/tiptronic? That then would give you the choice of automatic or assisted-manual gear changes depending on where, when and who you are driving. Hope this helps
