When Sport gear should be used?for Mercedes 300 TE?

In which speed should the sport gear be used? and for what purpose? Thanks.

1. You just use it if you want lower gearing and more accelleration,with the resultant loss of fuel economy.I had a Scorpio with a lotus 3 litre racing motor in it and special bodywork and tyres,you just press the button and it revs like hell as the gearing drops to a lower ratio and you can watch the fuel needle move round.It,s well worth trying just once,but you soon learn to leave it alone if you want to go far.It can be a useful get you out of trouble quickly tool but thats it.Besides,my wife hates travelling sideways round every island and it,s hard on tyres drifting on every bend.
