When can I get the best price on fishing gear?
Especially on freshwater fishing gear. Such as watercraft/flotation devices for lakes, fly fishing kits, and lures. When do large companies such as walmart and bass pro shops have their online deals?? Just got a new fly pole and about to pick up the sport, any DVD or Book recommendations? Any advice? I live in california.

- My favorite secret spot for great deals are garage sales and flea markets. I go to the "upperclass" neighborhoods and find great deals on sorts of things. Including tons of fishing supplies. As for books and such they may help you some but the best help is practice practice practice. It took me about 3 weeks to get fly casting down enough top actually go fishing and since I have improved greatly. If the books are more along the lies of tieing flies there is one called the "essential 100" that is a great reference on how to tie the most common 100 flies. Good Luck
- http://www.cabelas.com/ they have all you need -Doc-
- A lot of times Cabela's will have bulk pricing on their Rapala lures even if it isn't stated on their web site. Buy 10 shallow shad raps and they will drop over a dollar off each one. Has to be the same size. I use a lot so that isn't a problem for me. Ebay has a lot of good used lures as well as new ones at a lower price than retail
