What is nice cool clothes for 40 year old men for the summer?

and where is the place to go shopping? Mall is too expensive, Wal-Mart Sucks, target may be OK, but also what is the style? Like shorts, and shirts...what kind to get? How do you be informed about these popular fashion? GQ magazine and all are OK, just to look at, but I think they are bit too fancy for everyday clothes, and around the house.

1. a sweater with a jaket on top... ebay or look at the katinas....
2. Try Old Navy or the Gap. They have everything that is in style and they are not too expensive.
3. Really depends on what you are looking for in your area climate. Sporty,dress, casual etc. Men's warehouse = Suits Old Navy= Casual Target = Casual Gap= casual dress. Cargo shorts/ dockers and Khakis look very nice on men (IMO). Its a very causal, non sloppy attire and are cool enough wear for summer. Simple shoes or slip on sandals are cool summer wear. Of course jeans and t-shirts look nice if they are kept clean and not full of holes.
4. Polo shirts with a white undershirt underneath are always nice and they dont have to be expensive. You can wear them to anything and they are comfortable. Can be bought alot of places. Khaki cargo shorts that go to about the knee go with almost anything. Just look at what other people your age are wearing and take note of what you like about their style.
