Brands are usually Quiksilver, Billabong, Volcom, O'Neil, and Hurley. Also Hollister, Abercrombie, and Aeropostale.

Truth is...what you like is style. If you go around wondering "what's cool?" you'll never be cool. This is a lame answer but it's true. Sometimes people would tell me "DANG that's a cool ____" Other times they'd snicker and say "WTF are you wearing?" Either way i wouldn't care. If it appeals to you and you like the way you look in it, then you should rock it.
it really depends on what look you're going for. Say, if it's "preppy" then deff. go for popped collard, loose and baggy but not SAGGY jeans. If it's shorts, try cargos and make sure they're PAST YOUR KNEES if you're a guy, I can't stress this enough, Polos and undershirts and tennis shoes. Hollister (www.hollisterco.com) and American Eagle (www.ae.com), Aeropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch are really big... Just follow that. Anyways, that's the style I prefer in guys, and most of the guys I know and are friends (or more) with dress from those shops. Actually, most girls I know prefer that to looking "gangsta" because then it looks stupid, with their bloody pants sagging down to their knees for goodness' sake... Anyway, hope I helped! Good luck!
