Teen Fashion Trends in High School?

-I'm doing an article for my school newspaper on "Teen trends in High School" -It would be great if I could get input and different styles that are popular in your High School, and then I can compare High School trends to see if they are similar in any way. -At my school the most popular during THIS season are: Uggs, Scarves, and Vera Bradley Bags *(used as backpacks: http://www.the-english-garden.com/images... -Almost 1/2 the schools female population owns at least one or all of these items. -Where youre from (state) would be greatly appreciated -Please take this seriously-its for a newspaper article. If youre in College you can answer too... the more the merrier =)

1. uggs and vera bradleys have been out of style in yet people still where them. personally, i hate abercrombie and hollister and all that because everyone wears them. i like to stand out and look different.
2. - scarves - trenchcoats -colored skinny jeans -totes, designer ones or cheap ones. - ABERCROMBIE! -big bags -university hoodies/oversized hoodies oh and pink from victorias secret... lol i guess people find em cheap comfy and cute:) those are what people usually wear nowadays im not from america though, im from the middle east

4. Zooba pants are uber popular here! Bum sweatshirts are big. And most girls at my school wear blue eye shadow up to their eye brows. PS- if you dont have at least four swatches on at once you are sooo not cool. well i gotta go listen to the new kids on the block so peace out!
5. at my School Big walnut in ohio the alternative scene is big....everyone well not everyone but 3/4 have colorful hairor outrageous hair styles...at least 3/4 have a pair of black chain pants by tripp the Emo, Gothic, raver scene is rather big
6. I go to a highschool in Ohio and right now uggs, rainboots, pea coats, and skinny jeans are pretty popular. Also alot of girls dont have bookbags but like tote bags from ae/pacsun those kind of places.
7. Well, I live in London, England so the fashion is quite different over here. Generally, I wear skinny jeans with flats and a long type of shirt. Also, black boots that Linday Lohan or the Olsen twins wear a lot are popular here and I wear them often as well. for bags, designer bags like Balenciaga and Marc Jacobs are what people usually carry at my school. I still have my UGG's but I dont wear them as much since they were more popular last winter. Oversized sunglasses are a big trend here as well, I have a few pairs myself. Basically, girls at my school have the French Connection or Urban Outfitters type of look with a bit of designer thrown in there. There's deffinetly nobody with a Vera Bradley bag either, I can't believe those are considered fashionable in America
8. I'm from South Carolina. I have noticed the Uggs and Vera Bradley bags. Also, it seems a lot of the girls have some sort of brand-name bag other than the Vera Bradleys, usually either Coach of Chanel. Almost everyone at school (guys and girls) has Rainbow sandals/flip flops--they're actually the only flip flops we're allowed to wear at school. (Referred to as "Rainbows" and supposedly don't break.) And of course, we have Hollister and Abercrombie all over the place.

I'm out of highschool and starting college but I see I'm still eligable to answer :) I'm from Seattle, Washington (on the west coast) Girls my age are big into Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Coach, Northface fleeces, Abercrombie & Fitch is huge, dressing vintage and more indie, styles from American Apparel and Urban Outffiters... girls a little bit younger are into "scene" styles like skinny jeans with vintage tops and colorful hair in a sort of mullety thing. Uggs are not in here, they've been out since 2003 but shoes wise... boots, flats, pumps, and flip flops... most of my friends still wear flip flops when it's snowing! Which is beyond me but anyway... that's it in a nutshell :) My personal style is lots of girly dresses like Betsey Johnson, I love skinny jeans and tops from Urban Outfitters and TopShop, I like to keep my style fresh but I am the same in the fact that I spend too much money on designer bags
