How do i make the sweat smell from my t-shirts go away?

Normal washing won't work as it seems the smell has taken a hold in the t-shirt (in the armpit area) and when i use the t-shirt, after it has been washed, and start to sweat the smell pops out again. So , is there a way? or should i just keep tossing these t-shirts whenever they get "infected"?

  1. try adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to your washer. Its cheap and it works to get other smells out for me. febreeze sucks.

  5. use lots of spray on it and also wash the clothing at least 3 times before you wear it again with more washing powder...tht works =D
  6. We have a product here called Nappi-san pre wash. If it leaves a babies nappies odourless it should work on you tee shirts.
  7. Try amonia in the wash it works on any odor ive come across so far and i have two boys two dogs and a husband.

  9. Try Dawn dish soap. Apply to the area, work into fibers. Then wash in warmest water possible. It does the job for my husbands. You can also use Hydrogen peroxide, then sprinkle with baking soda. Wash as usual. I agree with one of these, Febreze sucks. It's not what it use to be. Good luck.
  10. Normally I would suggest full strength liquid laundry detergent scrubbed into area prior to wash - - that is mostly for cleaning. Bleach added to load could also be a help if they are white. Borax detergent works similar to bleach because of the Boric acid in it. In your case, I would still SCRUB liquid detergent into the arm pit area prior to the wash; but, add Pine Sol or liquid Spc N Span into same load. If that isn't working, you have only two options left: leave shirts a full day in direct bright sun light or dispose of shirts.
  11. buy a strong smelling detergent and fabric softener and i find hanging up shirts to dry keeps the smell of the softener better than putting it into the dryer, put deoderant on lots during the day and carry around body spray
