Can I sell oringinally designed graphics on like Hanes t-shirts for profit or is it illegal?

If I were to produce graphics, print them on another companys plain t-shirt and sell them for profit is that illegal?

1. As long as you bought the T-Shirts no. Do you think companies create their own t-shirt fabric when they print a t-shirt? Of course not.

3. No this is a great business lots of people do it you should go to the beach in cali.
4. Not only is it legal, your original designs are copyrighted and you can license them to others or prevent others from copying them. You might also have trademark rights to some of the designs, if they signify your shop as the source.
5. I am a cafepress.com store owner. Too lazy to print myself, but I don't make as much money as I would doing it myself either. I believe they use hanes.
