can you iron-on images on a bag with paper made for t-shirts?

like you know how you can print an image on special paper and iron it on a shirt. can you do the same thing but with a messenger bag?? or is it specially made for that specific fabric and will look crappy on like the material made for tote bags.

  1. They work well on canvas bags, it has to be cotton canvas or you can't apply enough heat. Don't forget either the bag needs to be white or off white or you have to iron the transfer onto white or off white fabric and then glue it on your bag with fabric glue. If you iron a transer onto dark fabric, the fabric shows through and distorts the colors and contrast of the transfer
  2. You will need to check the instructions on the paper purchased, as it is specific to types of materials as well. There should be no problem ironing onto a bag, but be sure you choose the right paper for the right job. There are various iron-on papers out there. I got some from Walmart this year that works well on dark materials. It could be used on white/pale materials as well, but it is more costly than the other stuff. The iron-on's work best with cottons, then cotton blends. Good luck!
