How do people design threadless t-shirts?

i mean the company, not t-shirts that actually lack threads. and im wondering more of what programs people use to design them. im aware that people send in the design and then it is voted on and the winners a printed, but im wondering how they create that winning design.

1. Is there such a thing? You need thread to put the thing together and the fabric is made up of threads. So I guess people do not design threadless t-shirts.

3. I think they have to send in their product idea; and then people vote on weather it should become a shirt or not. You're talking about the clothing company, right? EDIT: Most people use a computer program to make the designs, like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. :D
