What is better to go into Navy Seals or Air Force special ops and which one has cooler gear and more action?

- why would you join the military? aren't you good for anything besides blowing up little brown kids? Mom never let you play cowboys and indians?
- people who are out looking for the coolest toys and the most action are the type who dont usually make it in the special ops community. you need to be a silent professional, and its never about the glory.
- give peace a chance!
- seals are not really as glamorous as you may think, they spend long periods of time under cover blending in with the indigenous populating before springing into action at a moments notice.air force special opps are a little known organization ,but generally the air force has the coolest toys.i'm sure there are recruiters in your area that will be glad to lie to you about either of these fine outfits ,just get whatever they promise in writing and god bless you for your willingness to serve your country,
- Matter of Opinion here but Air Force Para Rescue is the top dog, they have to do it all but the 2 jobs are not really comparable. Para rescue is all about recovering soldiers and airman from bad places, my experiance with special ops is that if your on the ground and f'd up seeing an MH54 with a para rescue operator coming to get your tore up self is a very good thing the guy can sew you up and shoot at the same time. and all the toys are cool, and some of the schools are all the same such as basic airborne training is done at Ft Benning GA for everyone, HALO training is scattered around FT Bragg has one of the HALO schools (high altitude low opening), And dude we are at war you can get shot at in any branch, dont be looking for it, when some one slams a 20 mm shell in the wall next to your head and your best buds head is splattered all over you it ain't cool its sad and depressing , scary and if you dont shit yourself your a fool
- It's not the glamorous funfilled action packed adventure the movies make it out to be
- are those your only reasons for doing either of them? thats sad.
- "Cooler gear" is the wrong reason for military service . The 'coolest' piece of equipment I ever used on duty was an M15 Combat Masterpiece. The most effective, and dangerous weapon I used is my mind. Gear is nothing without the person using it. The Soldier, Airman, Sailor, and Marine make the tools useful, not the other way around.
- You would have more choices in the Special Operations Forces and Combat Search & Rescue (SOF/CSAR) community than Navy Seals. The Air Force equivalent of the Seals is probably Special Tactics. The gear is pretty much the same - too much to carry and gets heavy. Both organizations are at the 'tip of the spear'.
- Read the book "ROBERTS RIDGE" it is a true story and involves both SEALS and PARAJUMPERS.......being "cool" is the wrong reason to join. The last thing I want when s##t goes on down range is to have the "cool" kid next to me.
