Is wearing punk clothes making you a poser?

I've been a metalhead/punk lover for years now & i do like some punk style but i'm afraid of falling into a category of being "a follower". Like i see people getting asymmetric haircuts and i think they're just being followers. Also i see people wearing the knuckled scene jewelry and stuff and immediately i think "follower" or "poser"...I don't want to be labeled and i don't want to be a poser so would dressing punk be doing this?

  1. dude, wear what you want to wear... does it matter what anyone else thinks?
  2. wear whateva you want just dont get identical, same brand, exact style/colour stuff its awkward
  3. You can wear this stuff if ur into it. No one will judge you if you dress like yourself. Just don't get into those mow-halks or however you spell it. Hair takes a long time to grow back. Just remeber be yourself ! DRESS TO EXPRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. If you think you are a punk, then you should know a punk is not limited by any look, punk is a way of looking at life, punk is not buying into society, hence you try to make all your own clothes, you DO NOT shop at hot topic... buying 'punk' clothes from any store, but specifically hot topic will put a big poser label on your forehead.. basically if you want to dress like a punk rocker, just think of what you would like to wear.. I dont label myself, but i get called emo and punk all the time, i do have a more punk outlook on life as in i prefer anarchy of an established power... overall no one can tell you what punk is or is not, punk is to be defined by each individual, but just try to understand what punk is before you decide anything.. also be warned that if you walk around claiming you are a 'punk' then you certainly are a not a punk and just a poser..
