Where are the best places to buy cool surfing gear, clothes, accessories, etc.?

My best friend moved all the way across the country. Her new hobby (and she's VERY into it) is surfing. She's got a big birthday coming up (her 30th) and I'd like to get her something surfing-related. She's extremely hip, cool, earthy, creative, athletic, etc. I'd really appreciate any recommendations of online stores, actual shops or even gifts that you think would appeal to a relatively new surfer (she has been taking lessons several days a week, regularly for 2-3 months now, she also has her own board, not sure what kind, tho).
