Do you see the 'Affliction' or 'Ed Hardy' style of t-shirts coming to an end?
I see these shirts everywhere now. I've even seen an old man at the grocery store wearing one of these shirts. Do you think this style of shirt will come to an end anytime soon? I mean once everyone is wearing one, doesn't the appeal kinda disappear shortly after? I'm curious to hear the different responses.

- the great thing about these types of designs is that there are so many and several colors as well. now they are adding rhinestones. eventually like all fads it will die down but i think we will see them until the end of summer 2010
- I sure hope so! My boyfriend wears Affliction and it drives me NUTS! Thankfully he doesn't like Ed Hardy, if he did I think we might have to break up. lol. I think that one night when he goes out of town for a business trip I will have a bonfire at his house and burn all that crap! I guess it's not too bad since he is only 25 but I cannot stand when 40-50 year old men wear it! Hopefully 2010 will be the end of this trend!
- Nope, they look good
- At some point, yes, the style will come to an end. The trend of the moment is "hip-hop or rock-inspired high-end urban wear," and that is exactly the category under which Ed Hardy and Affliction fall in to. Unfortunately, the old man at the gorcery store is one of the many actually contributing to this downfall, as he is only wearing it because he thinks that it makes him look younger and more hip (Congratulations old man! Now you fit in with the "cast" of Jersey Shore! NOT!!). Fortunately, there are still the trailblazers out there who wear the newest Ed Hardy and Affliction clothing, because they care more about the style than the false image. Someone who pays full price for an in-season shirt at an Ed Hardy store, in my opinion, sees the quality in the product and the potential it possesses in creating an edgy fashion sense. The people that ruined it are the ones hoarding as much Ed Hardy clothing as they can from the $25 shirt sale at Ross and TJ Maxx. The reason they wear it is to look like whatever celebrity they once saw wearing it, be it Kanye West, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, the Jonas Bros., or whoever the hell else. Sadly, the posers far outnumber the original Ed Hardy and Affliction fans, and therefore the trend will slowly but surely die out. I for one think it's a shame, but Christian Audigier's reusable and time-tested business model of first marketing to celebreties and then to the masses has made this demise inevitable.
