Is it illegal to wear T-shirts that have curse words or talk about sexual acts in public?

I've walked by stores in the mall that sell profane T-shirts, but I never see anyone wearing them in public. Thought maybe they weren't allowed or if people would be asked to leave certain stores or bars with them on.

1. It's not illegal, just tacky. I know that some schools do not allow students to wear clothing like that.

4. People that would wear these shirts have security issues. They feel the need to flaunt themselves and try to gain controversy in the place that they exist. There is truly a moral issue in this country, and people wearing these represent their mental ability to rise above it has failed.

7. In most places, it's not illegal in public. In a private place like a store or a bar, the management can certainly forbid you to wear the shirt in their establishment. If you wear one to work, though, that would probably be your last day on that job-- unless you work in a biker bar or something along that line. I've seen those shirts for sale, too, and I've always wondered who would want to wear such a shirt. Do you really want to shout curse words at everyone in the world? That's what wearing a shirt with curses on it amounts to.
8. i suggest you look through peopleofwalmart.com you will find a lot of people wearing profane shirts lol ex: a recent posting shows a dude wearing a shirt that says "jesus is a c_nt" on the back lol
9. No it's not illegal, but they are offensive and every now and then someone ends up in the news for wearing offensive clothing in public places like schools or at public events.
