What is the current teen fashion in France?
I'm going to France later in the year. I want to fit in! But I am mainly going to Belgium... BONUS POINTS if you give me teen fashion advice for belgium! Also, if you know good places to shop (on a teen allowance) in Belgium... thanks!!

- OK. There is no difference in teen fashions between France and Belgium, except for the fact that Belgium geographically is North of France. You do not say when you are going there, but it is much colder in Belgium than in many parts of France so in winter you have to seriously cover up. You do not say where in Belgium you are going. If you are going to Brussels or other larger touristy towns, all the big names that exist in France are there too in the major shopping areas catering for teenagers. You will find cheaper clothing at C and A, H&M, Zara and Topshop, and there are small boutiques that have their own selection of more distinctive fashion. If you are going in a backwater then you have to travel to a larger town with a shopping centre to buy fashionable clothes, and on the whole they are more expensive than in the USA or the UK. Many girls wear leggings and loose tops, or longer skirts with tailored tops, or a blouse and a sleeveless waistcoat/gilet with a skirt. There even are some harem trousers about. Jeans are worn by many and are OK, provided they are well cut, not frayed or distressed, or covered in diamanté stuck ons. Pelmet style minis or micro shorts are not worn without thick tights in Belgian /French cities, except at the seaside. They spell TOURIST in large letters. On the whole very eccentric clothes are amusing on Lady Gaga, but not favoured by the girl in the street, besides the fact that they are impractical. Tee shirts are plain. At the moment girls wear loose tops over leggings. Little dresses are worn too but not as short as in the UK. Most girls wear ballerina type shoes, and sandals are only worn in the summer. No flip flops unless you are close to a beach! If you are going from September onwards then you need jumpers, longer skirts, tights, and from October onwards you need a coat, solid shoes or boots, and an umbrella. Things that are not cool are puff ball coats, distressed clothing, overbright or brash items, things that look like glorified underwear, sneakers, sweat or sports gear, and over the top eccentricity. Enjoy your time in Europe!
